Hybrid Ceramic Bearing Detail:
The hybrid ceramic ball bearings have stainless steel rings and ceramic balls. The rings are made from AISI440C, 304 or 316 stainless steel. The ceramic balls are made from ZrO2, Si3N4 or Sic. We can also offer our hybrid ceramic bearings with PEEK or 316 stainless steel cages.
The hybrid ceramic bearing balls has the advantage as below:
1. High speed. The ceramic ball has the properties of oil-free and self-lubricating, and the friction coefficient of the ceramic ball is small, so the ceramic ball has a high speed. According to statistics, the bearing using ceramic balls is 1.5 times the speed of the general bearing.
2. High temperature resistance. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the ceramic ball is small. In a high temperature environment, the bearing ball will not expand due to temperature, which greatly increases the operating temperature of the entire bearing. The temperature of ordinary bearings is about 160 degrees, and the temperature of ceramic balls can reach more than 220 degrees.
3. Long life. The ceramic ball can be added without any grease, that is to say, even if the grease dries out, the bearing can still operate, so as to avoid the occurrence of premature bearing damage caused by the grease dries out in ordinary bearings. According to foreign media tests and feedback from some customers, the service life of bearings after using ceramic balls is 2-3 times that of ordinary bearings.
4. Insulation. Bearings with ceramic balls can insulate the inner and outer rings of the bearing. Because ceramic balls are insulators, using ceramic balls between the inner and outer rings of the bearing can achieve the insulation effect. This enables the bearing to be used in a conductive environment. This is also the biggest advantage of hybrid ceramic bearings.
